We camped at Upper Sand Creek in Hells Canyon our second night on the river and spent the whole afternoon playing in the water and jumping off rocks. After dinner we lit up the Lava Box and the kids and their cousins gathered around the campfire. I got goosebumps watching them, knowing that this was the passing of the torch to the next generation. This is the dream: These wild spaces, these untouched Edens, and the ability to share them with those I love.
