Prior to turning this bend, we knew there was a fire. We had already navigated trees in the river and seen the smoldering logs on shore. However, when we got this glimpse all we could do is stare. No one wants to see the forests along our favorite rivers burn, but at the same time, when you’re floating through it, it’s beautiful.
