“Growing up I was a river guide in Oregon. Towards the end of this career I started pursuing photography and I always wanted to make this exact image. Seven or so years later I had the opportunity to go down the Grand Canyon with my good friend Laura Campbell (GC river guide rowing the boat). I told her I wanted to make this image and she was game. Next thing you know im sitting low in the front of the boat and I tell Laura to SMASH this next wave. A wall of water comes over the top of me. We get this image. My camera died. Too stoked to care.”

“My brother and I went fishing with Shane Ramasco on the Payette to celebrate our birthdays. The day started with 0% chance of rain. We completed the Payette River slam, catching the three main fish species. After lunch, the heavens opened with an added display of lightning and thunder. Our rain gear was useless in the truck. It was a day we won’t soon forget and a great way to celebrate another trip around the sun."
