After dinner, we hiked upriver for a while, just following the bank to see what was around the next bend. No plan, no rush—just walking and talking. On the way back, camp started to come into view and the light got soft over the water. I stopped for a second and snapped this shot while he picked his way over the rocks, both of us ready to sit down with the rest of the group and call it a day.
